About

Two comedy clubs walked into a building.

Mic Drop Mania, a boutique comedy experience, was established in 2022 by Colleen and Dave Specht, Hillary Hutson and Casey Currier. The goal was simple and hard: that you come for a comedy show and leave having found your comedy club.

How it happened

Both halves had already put in the years.

Colleen and Dave are no strangers to Downtown Chandler. In 2016 they opened ImprovMANIA, one of Arizona's most successful improvisation venues, and provided laughter at their Main Street location every weekend for seven years while becoming staples of the town.

Hillary and Casey opened their Comedy Wonderland themed Mic Drop Comedy in San Diego in early 2022, and both have decade long ties to the Arizona comedy scene. The two concepts merged, and Mic Drop Mania is what came out.

Stand up and award winning improv

Chandler has known this improv for eight years, from ImprovMANIA onward. It sits on the same stage as touring stand up, which is rarer than it sounds and is why a Tuesday here is not a quiet night.

A subtle Snow White theme

The skull, the potion bottle, the spellbooks on the artwork are not decoration bought in a box. The enchanted design runs through the building, and it is the first thing people photograph.

Two intimate showrooms, indoor and outdoor

100 seats inside under exposed brick, 40 outside in the Comedy Garden under bistro lighting. There is not one bad seat in either, and both rooms were designed with exactly that in mind.

Local ingredients, no pressure

The kitchen concentrates on the community of Chandler and on local ingredients, and there is no two drink minimum anywhere in the building. Free parking on site, plus two free garages minutes away.

The promise

Which is why every show has to be worth seeing.

Whether it is traditional stand up or improvisation, the integrity of every show is the top priority here, and any show on this stage is worth seeing. That is a promise the room has to keep twice a night, every weekend.

Beyond the shows there is a whole calendar the club runs: private events for up to 150 guests, the Big Pine Comedy Festival, and the Chandler Ghost, History and Strange Chandler walking tours that leave from downtown.
